As a dog owner, you can create a profile for your dog and find the perfect dog walker and dog sitter for your beloved pet.
As a dog lover, you can register in the app and offer walks and sitting services. You create your own schedule and decide how, when, and at what price you want to work."
gehgassi is available throughout Austria and Germany. Unfortunately, we cannot yet provide a comprehensive service.
Due to the digital payment option, you must be at least 18 years old. You also have to be able to handle a dog responsibly. If you are unsure whether you are up to the task, please arrange a joint appointment with the dog owner first to practice handling the dog.
gehgassi requires the following data:
- Your first and last name (complete and spelled out) Only the first name and the first letter of the last name are displayed in the app.
- Your address
- Your date of birth
A gehgassi profile is free for both dog owners and dog walkers.
When booking a walk, a transaction fee is deducted from the dog owner by the payment service provider.
An agency fee will be collected from the dog walker.
The payment service provider’s transaction fees are:
- Payment by credit card - 1.6% of the transfer amount + €0.18
- Payment by Klarna - 1.6% of the transfer amount + €0.20
- Payment by Maestro - 1.6% of the transfer amount + €0.25
- Payment by Giropay - 1.6% of the transfer amount + €0.30
The agency fees amount:
- For amounts up to €99 -> €1
- For amounts from 100 € -> 10 €
In general, we always recommend a first meeting with the dog walker to get to know them and see how they interact with your dog. You can select the right dog walker for you based on reviews and qualifications.
NO, you do not need your own dog to walk dogs through gehgassi. However, if you have your own dog, you can take other dogs on your walk, provided you have cleared this with the owner.

Thanks to our "reminder" feature, no appointments will be forgotten anymore. In the upcoming versions, a map with important locations in your area will also be displayed. Additionally, in the Gehgassi app, discounts from our partner businesses are regularly published.
Through the "Availability for Walks" feature, walkers can be booked INSTANTLY without the need for prior requests from dog owners. When you, as a walker, input your availability, you can be booked during that time period WITHOUT needing to confirm the booking.
You pay when you book the walk/sitting. However, our payment-provider keeps the money until you have confirmed the walk as successful. If the walk is not confirmed for a week and we have not received a complaint, we will automatically confirm it.
You will receive the money after you have completed the walk or sitting and the dog owner has confirmed the walk or sitting as successful. The dog owner pays the amount when booking the walk/sitting and our payment-provider keeps the money safe for that time.
If you, as a dog owner, cannot find a suitable walker or if no walker has listed availability at your desired times, you can create a 'Public Request' for your needs. This request will appear on the homepage of all walkers and sitters, who can 'apply' to your request. You can choose a person and accept their offer with a click. Afterward, payment must be made directly within the app; otherwise, the booking will be canceled after one hour.
If a walker/sitter has set their availability for your desired times, you can book them directly without the need for them to confirm the booking. Afterwards, payment must be made within the app. Only once the booking has been paid, the walker will receive a notification about the booking and can access all the details (address, messages from the dog owner, etc.). If the booking is not paid for within an hour in the app, it will be canceled.
If your preferred walker has not set their availability, you can request them with a click. The walker will then receive your request and can either accept or decline it. If the walker accepts your request, you have one hour to pay for the booking, otherwise it will be canceled.
During the KYC check, the profile data is compared with the data on the uploaded ID card. If this data is NOT identical, the KYC check will be rejected. The following data is compared:
- First name (complete)
- Last name (complete)
- Day of birth (at least 18 years)
- Country of residence
